Peekskill Police Charge Man with Beauty Salon Burglary

2015 NWE 0811 Peek Burglar GoordineerPeekskill police arrested a Beacon Man last week for the August 2 burglary of a beauty salon on South Street.

Ernest Gordineer, 43, was apprehended August 4 on Highland Avenue at 2:30 a.m. by Officer Fabian Gonzalez who recognized him from video evidence at Daisy’s Beauty Salon and from previous cases where he had arrested Gordineer.

Detective Ralph D’Aliso investigated the burglary after officers Orlita Simmons and Alvaro Farias found the front door damaged while on patrol on August 2. Gordineer, who, according to Peekskill Police Chief Eric Johansen, has a lengthy criminal record with over 20 criminal convictions, was charged with burglary in the third degree. Gordineer is also a suspect in a second burglary reported the following day on Washington Street.

Meanwhile, Gordineer was charged by State Police on two counts of grand larceny for larcenies he allegedly committed at BJ’s in Wappingers Falls on July 21 and Sam’s Club in Fishkill on July 28, after D’Aliso identified him from fliers circulated by the State Police.

Yorktown Police

An unidentified 17-year-old Yorktown male was charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument and criminal nuisance after police were called to a residence on Saw Mill River Road on August 4 at about 10:55 p.m. to investigate a possible underage drinking party.

At the residence, police made contact with the 17-year-old who was hosting the party and was allegedly in possession of a forged out-of-state driver’s license that purported him to be over 21 years old.
