1. Matthew Whitaker Quintet (Fri 8/19)

Enjoy beautiful music and beautiful summer weather at a concert on the lawn at Caramoor with the Matthew Whitaker Quintet, presented in collaboration with Jazz at Lincoln Center. Young piano and organ phenomenon Matthew Whitaker is one of the most exciting talents to emerge in recent years. A child prodigy, he has since shared the stage with some of the biggest and brightest stars in jazz. Whitaker also shines as an award-winning composer and an acclaimed bandleader whose unrelenting energy uplifts his bands and audiences alike. Bring your own seating for the concert. You can bring your own picnic or purchase one on-site. Concert begins at 7 p.m., rain or shine (concert moves indoors in inclement weather). Tickets: $35 adults, $15 children.

2. Family Fishing Derby (Sat 8/20)

Teach the kids how to fish with other families at Red Wing Park. There will be prizes and awards. Bait and rods provided if necessary. Open to all ages. Event is free, held from 7 to 10:30 a.m.

3. Jewish Cultural Heritage Festival (Sun 8/21)

Traditional Jewish food, music, dance, crafts, and activities will be featured as part of the county’s Cultural Heritage Celebrations series, held at the Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla. Seating is informal, so bring blankets or folding chairs for seating on the lawn. Held from 12 – 6 p.m., rain or shine. Admission free.
