Lots of good stuff this morning in our Weekend + Edition roundup but I’d be remiss if I didn’t spotlight my favorite editorial element, our photo of the adorable Charlie, a beautiful dog tended to by great adoptive parents, Sheilah and David Chason, who happen to be my Mt. Kisco neighbors — model neighbors (and friends) at that. As an Examiner Ambassador-level member, I told Sheilah she was entitled to a pet pic in Examiner+ and she submitted the adorable image at the bottom of today’s section. I’ll also note that 2021 is the year my wife and I took the adventurous step of getting a second dog ourselves; beaten down by begging from our daughters. So, dear readers, if you twist my arm hard enough — fine, ok, ok, I’ll do it — we just might publish a photo of Charlie’s friends Woody and Daisy Stone this time next week. You get that, Robert? Pencil it in.

The Slambovian Circus of Dreams tune “Suddenly It’s Christmas” comes from their Christmas EP “Yo Ho Ho! Merry Xmas.”
Formed in Sleepy Hollow in 1998, The Slambovian Circus of Dreams’ devoted cult following has brought them to major music festivals and venues across the US, Canada, and the UK. Lead singer-songwriter Joziah Longo’s voice is described as “soothing and bewitching as a snake oil tonic.” He is joined by Sharkey McEwen (guitar, mandolin) and Tink Lloyd (accordion, cello, keys, flute).
“The Slambovians” describe their music as “rootsy psychedelica” that taps into a British Invasion vocabulary with dusty American folk overtones.
They return to The Towne Crier in Beacon with their very popular annual show, “A Very Slambovian Christmas” on Saturday, December 18.
