Croton-on-Hudson Police Department

Dec. 23: A South Riverside Avenue caller reported at 1:09 p.m. that she ordered a television that was delivered but stolen from the mail room in her building. Patrol was dispatched and will file a report. An investigation is pending.

Dec. 31: A Grand Street resident reported at 11:18 a.m. that there were three people going door to door and they tried to follow her down the driveway. Patrol was dispatched and reported that the parties were from a religious organization.

Dec. 31: A caller reported a large group of noisy teenagers on Cleveland Drive heading in the direction of Carrie E. Tompkins Elementary School at 11:10 p.m. Patrol was dispatched and reported that youths were walking on the sidewalk. Patrol advised them to stay out of the street and keep the noise down.

New Castle Police Department

Dec. 29: Officers responded to a Chappaqua residence on a report of a domestic dispute between a father and daughter. Upon arrival, officers determined the verbal dispute stemmed from granting permission to use a family vehicle. The dispute was mediated and documented.

Dec. 30: At about 5:30 a.m., officers responded to a Chappaqua gas station on a report of a commercial burglary alarm. Upon arrival, officers observed a broken door and confirmed a burglary had occurred. The scene was secured and processed by detectives. The investigation is ongoing.

Dec. 31: Officers responded to a Millwood deli at about 5 a.m. following a commercial burglary alarm. The responding officers observed a broken door and confirmed a burglary had occurred. The scene was secured and processed by detectives. The investigation is ongoing.

Jan. 1: Police investigated a report of a domestic dispute between a husband and wife. Subsequent to an investigation, a Mount Kisco woman was arrested for third-degree assault against her husband. Additionally, the woman was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child because the assault occurred in front of two young children.

Jan. 4: A Manhattan woman turned herself in to New Castle detectives on an active warrant. The arrest warrant was for second-degree criminal contempt stemming from a violation of an order of protection protecting a male party. The woman was arraigned in Town of New Castle court and was released on her own recognizance.

Jan. 4: An Ossining man turned himself in to detectives on two active warrants out of this jurisdiction. One was a bench warrant and the other was for third-degree bail jumping. The man was arraigned in Town of New Castle court and released on his own recognizance.

North Castle Police Department

Dec. 29: Report of a grand larceny at 12:39 p.m. A resident arrived at headquarters stating that a check for $10,200 was fraudulently drawn from his checking account. A report was made as a matter of record.

Dec. 30: Report of a small pile of construction debris on fire on Bedford Road at 4:16 p.m. The Armonk Fire Department responded and the fire was successfully extinguished.

Jan. 1: A caller reported at 8:18 a.m. that a suspicious gray BMW with New York plates parked at one of the gas pumps at the Shell gas station for over an hour. The caller further stated that he is unsure if the vehicle is occupied because of dark tinted windows. The responding officers determined that the vehicle was unoccupied and that the vehicle’s license plates did not belong to the car. Armonk Garage was notified to remove the car and impounded the vehicle without incident. The vehicle was also entered into E-Justice as impounded.

Jan. 1: A call was received from an Intervale Avenue resident at 4:58 p.m. to report a suspicious phone call she received. The caller stated that someone had called stating they would be delivering money that she had won in a sweepstakes. The responding officer gathered the information; a report will follow.

Pleasantville Police Department

Dec. 30: Report of a disturbance on Broadway at 10:36 p.m. A juvenile was arrested in connection with the incident. No further information was released because the suspect is a minor.

Jan. 2: Officers were called to Memorial Plaza near the Pleasantville Diner at 2:17 a.m. to check on a party who was found asleep behind the wheel of his car. A 36-year-old Mohegan Lake man was arrested and charged with DWI.

Jan. 2: A village resident reported at headquarters at 3:36 p.m. that someone used his T-Mobile account to purchase four phones and four lines. The resident was reporting the incident because T-Mobile had informed him that he needed to have a police report in order to have the charges deleted from his account.

State Police

Dec. 30: Troopers patrolling the Taconic State Parkway in Putnam Valley were advised of a possible stolen vehicle headed northbound at 12:15 a.m. The stolen vehicle, a 2010 Toyota Rav4, was located and a stop was initiated. The operator failed to comply and attempted to flee. While passing uninvolved vehicles on the east shoulder of the parkway, the driver severely damaged the front right wheel after striking a rock embankment. He lost control of the vehicle and struck the pursuing state police vehicle. He then fled on foot, but was soon taken into custody. The passenger stayed with the vehicle and was taken into custody without further incident. There were no injuries. An investigation determined both defendants were in possession of 0.7 grams of crack-cocaine and 0.8 grams of cocaine. It was also determined that the driver was in possession of counterfeit U.S. currency.

White Plains Police Department

 Dec. 30: A 50-year-old man was charged with criminal obstruction of breathing at 5:19 a.m. in connection with an incident in the lobby of 57 Bank St.

Jan. 1: A 33-year-old man was charged with second-degree menacing at 12:15 p.m. at 148 Martine Ave.

Jan. 8: Police responded to The Private Shop at 219 E. Post Rd. at 2:46 a.m. on a report of a possible burglary. Responding units found the front window of the store shattered and merchandise scattered throughout the interior. It appeared to officers that merchandise was removed from the store’s shelves. A crime scene was established and secured for processing. Units also canvassed the area for witnesses and surveillance video. An investigation is ongoing.
