Although a registered Democrat, I am strongly for Ed Lachterman to carry on the work of his friend, the late Tom Diana, as supervisor of the Town of Yorktown.

I have known Ed since his early days as a board member and have been impressed with Ed’s intelligence and work ethic. Ed has built successful businesses and, yet, has recently divested himself of involvement with them to concentrate totally on the work of the town. He has shown his management skills with his ability to keep the board working efficiently after Supervisor Diana’s sudden and untimely death.

As an aside, Ed’s opponent in the election may have attractive capabilities but I would have a hard time voting for someone who only comes to board meetings when running for office. I feel that one can only get a real understanding of the board’s workings and its personalities by attending the meetings regularly.
