1. Dead Meat at the Capitol Theatre

2. Community Day at the FASNY Museum of Firefighting (Saturday, 8/6)

For your kids who aspire to be firefighters (or the kid in you who one day dreamed of being one), enjoy a fun-filled, family-friendly “Super Saturday” at the Firefighters Association of the State of New York (FASNY) Museum of Firefighting’s Community Day. Enjoy new exhibits, exciting demonstrations by the Owego Hose Team and Molly the Museum Dog, a barbershop quartet, fun games and prizes for all ages, and other surprises. Admission and activities are free, including cake celebrating FASNY’s 150th anniversary.

3. Heritage of India Festival (Sunday, 8/7)

Heritage of India Festival Returns to Kensico Dam Plaza Aug. 7 | Yonkers  Times

Come celebrate India’s culture at the Heritage of India Festival. There will be live Indian cultural performances, Indian cuisine, an Indian merchandise bazaar, mehendi (henna) art, and children’s arts and crafts. From 12 to 6 p.m., rain or shine. Admission and parking are free. Attendees should bring their own lawn chairs or blankets.
