State Police Seeking Public’s Help in Bank Robbery Case

Following a bank robbery Tuesday afternoon, the New York State Police in Somers are reaching out to the public for assistance in helping identify a male suspect involved, according to a statement posted on the New York State Police Facebook page.

At about 3:30 p.m. at a Chase Bank along Route 6 in Baldwin Place in the Somers Commons shopping plaza, the suspect displayed a black handgun and demanded money from the bank teller, according to the release.

The suspect is believed to be in his mid-thirties and is described as a light skinned white male, who is unshaven and has poor oral hygiene with a slender build. At the time of the robbery, the suspect was wearing what appeared to be an Adidas black colored wind jacket with white stripes down the sleeves, dark colored footwear and a baseball cap.

The suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction after exiting the bank.
