A Mobile Food Pantry will be stationed at Shrub Oak Memorial Park on Sunnyside St. Thursday, Feb. 2 from 3:30 to 5 p.m.

The pantry is a joint effort between Yorktown’s Food Security Task Force and Feeding Westchester and is the second mobile pantry serving Yorktown. The first runs once a month at the Jefferson Valley Mall.

Feeding Westchester brings about 5,000 pounds of food to each mobile pantry. The food is all retail recovery, so the products vary each month, but it generally includes meat, fresh produce, and some dry goods. Some months there is prepared food and even vegetable trays.

The pantry will be in Shrub Oak once a month until May. It will then return in September.
