Josh Nelson

The Josh Nelson Project is ready to rock the Paramount.

One of the most popular performers and producers in modern Jewish music, Nelson is scheduled to perform at Peekskill’s Paramount Center for the Arts on Saturday, March 12 at 8:00 p.m. The show is being presented by First Hebrew Congregation of Peekskill.

Nelson is a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, and his music is celebrated and integrated into Jewish communities around the world. He serves as the music director for the Union for Reform Judaism Biennial Convention, as faculty at Hava Nashira Music Institute, and is a musical artist in residence at the JCC Macabi ArtsFest. He has performed more than 1,000 shows around the globe. He is also part of the team penning the music and lyrics for the Broadway production of “Sleepless in Seattle.”

The band’s debut CD, “Lift,” was released in 2009.

“Josh has an international following,” stated Daniela Rosen, a board member at First Hebrew Congregation. “We wanted to bring the Josh Nelson Project to our area as another means of bringing our local Jewish community together.”

First Hebrew is one of the oldest congregations in northern Westchester.

The Paramount Center for the Arts is located at 1008 Brown Street in Peekskill. Tickets for the Josh Nelson Project are $45 and $35, and can be obtained by calling the box office at  1-877-840-0457 or by visiting www.paramountcenter.org.
