Greenburgh Receives $500K to Upgrade Massaro Park

Greenburgh Supervisor Paul Feiner announced last week the town was awarded a $500,000 state grant to complete major improvements at Massaro Park in Elmsford.
State Assemblyman Thomas Abinanti (D) was able to obtain the grant under the State and Municipalities Facilities Program (SAM) for materials, construction and installation of various park improvements for what is estimated to be a more than $700,000 project.
Planned improvements at the multi-use 2.5-acre park will include removing and installing a new retaining wall to the park’s basketball court; renovating the basketball court; removing and building a new playground with rubberized surfacing; sandblasting and repainting the outdoor pool with new rubberized painting; renovating the pool deck; renovating the existing handball court; and rebuilding a new walkway around the park.
“These upgrades will enhance the quality of life for residents of North Elmsford,” Feiner stated.
Massaro Park is open to all residents of New York State by virtue of prior federal funding through the Land and Water Conservation Fund.
