Fire Destroys Cortlandt Arts Center Building

We are part of The Trust Project

A Friday morning fire destroyed a building behind Charles Cook Pool on Furnace Dock Road in Cortlandt that was home to the Croton Cortlandt Center for the Arts.

About 100 firefighters from area departments responded to the 10:30 a.m. blaze. No one was in the building at the time and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire has not been determined.

The building once housed the offices of the Cortlandt Recreation Department. Town officials have vowed to help the Croton Cortlandt Center for the Arts find another suitable location.
