Yorktown Man Suffers Head Injury in Taconic Crash

We are part of The Trust Project

A Yorktown resident and active member of the Ossining Volunteer Ambulance Corps suffered a severe head injury in a one-car crash last week on the Taconic State Parkway.

Sam Lubin, 48, a father of two, was traveling south on the Taconic in Putnam Valley on February 3 at about 2:09 a.m. when his vehicle exited the roadway on the west shoulder and struck multiple trees. According to State Police, Lubin was ejected from the vehicle and sustained head trauma. He was transported to Westchester Medical Center for treatment.

About 12 years ago, Lubin joined the Ossining Ambulance Corps as a paramedic. He was promoted to supervisor in 2006 and then became the corps’ first chief. In 2008, the corps was named agency of the year by the Westchester County Department of Emergency Services.

On www.EMTBravo.com where a get well card was posted, one individual commented, “Known same for a long time.  He has kept OVAC alive through hard work and dedication.  We all have ups and downs from time to time.  This is a time when he needs all of us to be up…………to the task.  We’ll be there for you Sam….!!!!!”
