Yorktown Smart Growth is a group of residents committed to giving the people of Yorktown and the local business community a voice in shaping the townâs development. This includes helping support the vitality of businesses located in all the business hamlets: Crompond, Jefferson Valley, Mohegan Lake, Shrub Oak, and Yorktown Heights. Smart growth is a way of building for the future that creates more vibrant, prosperous, and attractive communities. It encourages the use of the latest green technologies and energy-saving techniques to build efficient, sustainable commercial and residential buildings in a walkable hamlet environment. These principles are in line with the townâs motto of âProgress with Preservation.â
