White Plains to Celebrate 10th Annual Dads Take Your Child to School Day

We are part of The Trust Project

The City of White Plains anticipates more than 2,000 dads will participate in the 10th Annual Dads Take Your Child to School Program on Tuesday, Sept. 18.  Turn-out in White Plains for this event has traditionally been high, and this year is shaping up to be no exception.

Dads Take Your Child to School Day is a national campaign designed to encourage fathers and father figures to be actively engaged in the student learning experience from pre-school through college.  Research shows that when dads are involved with student learning, students perform better academically, have fewer discipline problems and increased confidence, and demonstrate better management and problem solving abilities.

This program is also supported by the White Plains School District PTA, MVP Health Care, The Ministers Fellowship Council of White Plains and Vicinity, African American Men of Westchester, Beta Alpha Alpha Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity and the GrandPas United group.
