The Hudson Creamery, Peekskill

You can find a variety of hand-dipped flavors ranging from the typical chocolate and vanilla to Pomegranate Molasses, Salty Caramel Pretzel, and Cappuccino Kahlua Calypso, just to name a few. Be sure to check out their signature sundaes too. Their signature sundaes are what bring customers back again and again. The Fal-Cone, named in honor of the owners, is a vanilla/chocolate soft serve ice cream served in a waffle cone that the inside of has been smeared with Nutella and then dipped in a chocolate crunch that has peanut butter and chocolate drizzled on top. Another great choice is the Breakfast Club with vanilla soft serve in a waffle cone topped with bacon and maple syrup. Looking for a painting party without the alcohol? Have one at the Creamery. Art options are available for children and adults and custom designs can be requested with advance notice. Open Monday through Friday, 3 to 9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, Noon to 9 p.m.

Bona Bona Ice Cream, Port Chester

Chef Nick Di Bona blends the best of American ice cream and Italian gelato to create his own uniquely delicious desserts. Some of his fun flavors, include Italian rainbow cookie, Holy Cannoli! and Nutella S’mores. As if that isn’t enough, he has also become known for “torching” some desserts to bring out their best. Port Chester’s store also includes the Sprinkle Room for parties and the Milkshake Bar for virgin or alcoholic beverages. Open Monday through Thursday, 2 to 10 p.m.; Friday, 2 to 11 p.m. Saturday, Noon to 11 p.m. and Sunday, Noon to 9 pm.

Big Foot Creamery, Ossining

Known for its local ingredients from farms in the area, the Creamery has vegan and gluten-free options. Since they rely on local ingredients their flavors change with the seasons. Summer is filled with an abundance of fruity options. Enjoy the Peaches and Cream with peaches from Fishkill Farms or some Blueberry Cheesecake, which combines vanilla ice cream with graham crackers and blueberry compote made with blueberries from Hilltop Hanover Farm. Be sure to head back in the fall for other seasonal flavors including Maple, which is made from Grade A pure maple syrup straight from The Sugarhouse of White Oak Farm. Penny Lick Ice Cream, Hastings-on-Hudson

Don’t let allergies stop your summer treat fun. Penny Lick says all of its flavors are peanut and tree nut-free. Gluten-free flavors are available as well. Flavors range from the typical vanilla and chocolate to White Bourbon Caramel, which has White chocolate ice cream with a burnt butter bourbon caramel swirl; Lemon Bar, which starts with lemon custard ice cream and includes crushed vanilla cookies; and Honeycomb, which is a sweet vanilla ice cream with a honeycomb caramel sponge candy. With something for everyone, including nut-free, vegan, and oat milk-based options, the new perfect place to hang out in White Plains has its daily flavor list posted on Instagram.
