The past two years have been a slow burner for the arts and entertainment industry, all the while trying to maintain its space within the community. While the recent dropping of indoor mask mandates in New York has helped to normalize things, the ripples effects of COVID within the arts industry still pose a threat, and talk of resurgent threats from new subvariants have sparked renewed concerns.

To be sure, the post-pandemic road has been a pattern of taking a few steps forward followed by a couple of steps back. Audience members were excited to be back in person attending their favorite performing arts shows and cultural exhibitions last fall after over a year of being shut down. The White Plains Performing Arts Center celebrated the end run of its winter production of A Christmas Carol, The Musical in January. But like Broadway, WPPAC was hit with several challenges, especially as the Omicron variant reared its head in the winter.
