Sheriff’s Department Searching for Friday Morning Burglary Suspect

The Putnam County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help in order to locate a man who is a suspect in an alleged burglary that took place late this morning, Friday, June 1 on Shawnee Drive in Putnam Valley.

A statement from the department said that a 9-1-1 reverse call was broadcast to residents asking them to contact the department if they see or have information on the whereabouts of Christopher Rivera, age 22, who is a white male and approximately five feet eight inches tall and 170 pounds.

Rivera has short dark hair and was last scene wearing a gray sweatshirt and blue and gray checkered pajama pants. Rivera’s face may be bloodied.

Rivera was last seen in the area of Church Street and Peekskill Hollow Road in Putnam Valley and he may be headed toward the Lake Peekskill area.

Anyone sighting the suspect or having information about the crime should call the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office at 845-225-4300. All calls will be kept confidential.
