It may very well be the Time Warp, because the Rocky Horror Show is back at the White Plains Performing Arts Center.

Somebody should probably mention at some point that this show is rather on the raunchy side and parental discretion is advised. Just because I know there will be that one idiot who does no research and brings a five-year-old, and then whines about how we didn’t warn them and now little Bobby wants to wear nothing but high heels and garter belts…

Here are some thoughts from the old and new members of the cast:

Simon O’Keefe, also known as Dr. Frankfurter, is a return from last year’s show. When asked how he was able to master the high heels his character spends the duration of the show in, he said it took three months of practice. Dr. Frankfurter is a transvestite, but Simon says that that role is a lot of fun because he gets to “explore the female world…because that’s who I am inside [a girl].”

Najee Gabay-Knight, a newbie to this Rocky show but not the WPPAC and starring as Riff Raff, said that he was very happy to join the cast. On the subject of the negatives of being a new person in an old cast and show, he said that it can be distracting because he doesn’t know a lot about it, especially the choreography.

Joshua Hobbs, the famed Rocky Horror, is new to the WPPAC family but not the performing community. When not preforming on land, he works as a singer/performer on Royal Caribbean cruise lines. Even though Rocky Horror only wears Speedos for most of the show and is constantly being touched in a sexual manner, Josh still decided to audition for him. Why? After pondering how to even answer that question, he said that this role is different from everything else he’d ever done and something he’d always wanted to try. As for the feeling up every four minutes after he appears in the show, he says, “Everyone enjoys a grope every now and again.”

Here’s the information about the show. There are only four performances: Friday, January 13th at 8 p.m., Saturday January 14th at 8 p.m., and Sunday January 15th at 7 p.m. and a midnight show on January 14th (Saturday night). Tickets are $23 for adults and $17 for students in high school or younger (not that much younger!). You can buy tickets online or visit the WPPAC box office Monday-Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. More information is available at www.wppac.com.

So if you’re ready to jump to the left, step to the right, put your hands on your hips, being your knees in tight, but it’s the pelvic thrust that really drives you insane, do the Time Warp again and come see Rocky Horror at the White Plains Performing Arts Center.
