Resumes for Public Review Should Be Required of All Candidates

Voters deserve to be provided with as much information as possible about candidates running for office asking for their votes.
Recently, after George Santos was elected to Congress, the Westchester County Board of Legislators worked on legislation requiring candidates for office to submit a resume before they can run for office. This requirement should also be applied now, locally, prior to primary elections on June 27, and prior to early voting on June 17.

Even though we are not expecting another George Santos candidate in our local elections, this requirement would allow voters to learn more about the candidates’ experience with respect to factors like their number of years working in, and with, county, state and federal government.
