County Police/Mount Kisco
Oct. 15: An officer responded to a North Bedford Road has station at 9 p.m. after a caller reported that he entered the business but no one was inside. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with an employee and reported that there was no condition.
Oct. 16: An officer responded to West Hyatt Avenue at 4:01 p.m. to assist a woman who was experiencing a rapid heart rate and feeling unwell. An ambulance was requested and she was taken to Northern Westchester Hospital.
Oct. 16: A woman arrived at the Green Street precinct at 1 p.m. to report that her teen-age son had just fled from her near Green Street and East Main Street, and was possibly intending to harm himself. Officers located the youth at Lexington Avenue and Lieto Drive and he agreed to come to the precinct with them. The Mobile Crisis Response Team was requested to respond.
Oct. 16: A village resident who failed to appear in court to answer multiple charges was arrested at 4:10 p.m. after an officer observed him walking on Lexington Avenue near West Hyatt Avenue. The 29-year-old man was booked at the Green Street precinct on warrants charging him with third-degree criminal mischief, assault, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child. He was arraigned in Mount Kisco Justice Court and remanded to Westchester County Jail in lieu of bail.
Oct. 17: Officers responded to a bank on Lexington Avenue at 9:11 a.m. on an activated panic alarm. It was determined an employee had set the alarm off in error.
New Castle Police Department
Oct. 15: Police responded to a Chappaqua residence on a report of a verbal domestic dispute between a mother and daughter. The dispute was mediated on scene by officers and the incident was documented.
Oct. 16: Police responded to a local business regarding a larceny from a vehicle that was parked in the parking lot. The vehicle was left unlocked and various items were removed from the vehicle by an unknown person. The incident is being investigated by New Castle detectives.
North Castle Police Department
Oct. 13: Reports of a coach bus broken down with kids standing on the shoulder of I-684 at 1:20 p.m. State police was notified. About 45 minutes later, the department was advised that the occupants of the bus are students from another school district and someone inquired about dropping off the students at a safe place, possibly a school. Officers responded to assist, and parties arranged for private transportation to Town Hall until another bus arrives.
Oct. 15: Reports of a commercial burglar alarm set off at 575 Main St. at 4:31 a.m. The responding officer reported a vehicle in the parking lot described as a blue BMW sedan with a loud exhaust that fled onto southbound Main Street. The officer pursued that vehicle onto northbound Route 22, and lost sight of it at Route 22 near I-684. A hotline notification was sent.
Pleasantville Police Department
Oct. 18: The owner of a business on Paulding Street reported at 10:43 a.m. that checks were fraudulently written from the business and money taken.
Putnam County Sheriff’s Department
Oct. 13: A 44-year-old Granite Springs man was arrested for driving a vehicle while impaired by drugs at 5:30 p.m. A sheriff’s office investigator was driving eastbound on Route 311 near the I-84 overpass in Kent when a westbound vehicle passed another vehicle and nearly struck the investigator. A traffic stop was initiated, and upon approaching the vehicle, the investigator immediately noticed the smell of burnt marijuana. A state-certified drug recognition expert, he conducted a series of field sobriety tests and determined that the operator was impaired and placed him under arrest. The suspect was charged with operating a motor vehicle impaired by drugs, a misdemeanor. His vehicle was towed and brought to the Putnam County Correctional Facility, where he was processed and given an appearance ticket in Town of Kent Court. He was also issued tickets for refusal to take a breath test, improper passing and moving from lane unsafely.
Yorktown Police Department
Oct. 17: Two homeless men from New Rochelle were charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and fourth-degree Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, both Class E felonies, in connection with a larceny at Dick’s Sporting Goods at the Jefferson Valley Mall at 12:55 p.m. Officers observed two men, ages 53 and 66, carrying large bags in the mall’s parking lot. As they approached, one of the men attempted to run away. An investigation revealed the two suspects allegedly placed 14 pairs of pants and two jackets, totaling $1,345, in bags and left the store without paying. Additionally, both men were charged with possession of burglar tools, a Class A misdemeanor, while the older man was also charged with possessing a quantity of heroin.
