Despite spotty rain, a healthy crowd milled about downtown Ossining Saturday for the village’s street fair. Village organizations like the Ossining Chamber of Commerce and the Ossining Teachers’ Association set up booths, and other vendors sold food and jewelry. Still more tents offered services like face-painting, a photo booth and small arcade games. Among the event’s attendees was State Assemblywoman Sandra Galef, who manned the booth of the Ossining Democratic Committee. The day also included performers, both semi-professional and pint-sized, like the Claremont School third-grade chorus class that performed Katy Perry’s “Firework.” Toward the western end of the fair, by the Ossining Post Office, a group of young men and women performed capoeira, the Brazilian dance. Other more active vendors included a karate class and a strong-man competition sponsored by Club Fit in Briarcliff Manor.
