Mount Pleasant Library Offering Music Downloads

We are part of The Trust Project

The Mt. Pleasant Public Library is getting more high tech.
The library will be offering cardholders the opportunity to download mp3s, a month after it made digital e-books available to cardholders.
Using Freegal Music Service, cardholders will able to download three songs a week from the Sony Music Catalogue, featuring artists such as Michael Jackson and Bruce Springsteen. Users can browse by genre artists or genre, and certain artists are periodically highlighted.
“We thought it would be a really popular service and a nice value added service,” Library Director John Fearon said. “I’ve tested it out, it’s great.”
The service was introduced at the Chappaqua Library last year. Fearon said this ties into the library’s new philosophy and new direction to make its homepage a destination for users.
“You can go to our website anytime, even when the library is closed,” Fearon said. “It’s always open.”
