A 23-year-old Thornwood man is in serious condition after he was shot Friday night in White Plains, police said.
Police received a call at approximately 10:54 p.m. Friday night reporting the shooting. They reported to the scene and found the victim in a vehicle on Ferris Avenue near the intersection of Cemetery Road. He had apparently been shot twice, once in the upper body and once in the arm, Asst. Chief Anne Fitzsimmons of the White Plains Police Department said.
“We’re still investigating what the relationship is [between the victim and the shooter] and what he [the victim] was doing in the car,” Fitzsimmons said.
No arrests have been made. The shooter was described to police by the victim as a 5-foot-9 male with a medium build who drove a silver-colored car, Fitzsimmons said.
The victim was taken by ambulance to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, police said. The investigation is continuing.
