It is a shame that during an election, opponents attack the person they are running against.

I read some comments about Ed Lachterman that I can say are patently false. What I can tell you about Ed is that he is a man that has a moral compass. His service to his community is born out of a love of his community and his desire to help people. He never hesitates to help a person that needs help and looks for nothing in return. When he commits to something, you know that it will be done and he will tell you if it may not be possible while still trying to accomplish it.

Ed is also someone who will champion a cause. I have worked with him in his efforts to help those with food insecurities via food banks at St. Mary’s and at the Yorktown First Presbyterian Church. His work for veterans with the Sons of the American Legion has been inspirational. His personal generosity toward local charities is overwhelming.
When I came to him a few years ago needing to find a home for a support group, he championed the cause and found us a home. He is a man of high moral standards, great personal ethics and the person who should be Yorktown’s next supervisor.
