I am a colleague of Kathy Kahng on the Board of Trustees of the Putnam County Land Trust (PCLT). PCLT is a wonderful nonprofit organization that protects 1,120 acres of land and trails across 27 preserves in Kent, Patterson, Brewster, Southeast, Carmel, Mahopac and Putnam Valley.

I am writing to support Kathy for Putnam County legislator from District 3 on Nov. 7.

Kathy serves as the chair of the PCLT Community Engagement Committee. She and her committee are responsible for organizing outreach activities such as nature walks, guided hikes, community events and our annual dinner gala. The gala is PCLT’s major fundraising event that supports the work we do each year. This year’s gala was a great success, raising 50 percent more funds than the prior year.

I have seen how effective Kathy is in managing a project, gathering and motivating volunteers and accomplishing the numerous tasks involved in successfully leading events for the Putnam County Land Trust. These skills will transfer easily to the Putnam County Legislature. Kathy also was chair of the Kent Stormwater Management Committee and brings relevant professional experience driving worthy consumer-facing projects through municipal governments. Kathy gets things done!

Please join me and vote for Kathy Kahng for Putnam County legislator, District 3, on Nov. 7.
