Healthy Yorktown 5K Run/Walk a Success
Hundreds of people participated in the first Healthy Yorktown 5K Run/Walk at Franklin D. Roosevelt State Park on Saturday, May 14. Organized by the fitness committee of the Yorktown Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by the Hudson Valley Hospital Center, the money raised from the event benefitted the Lakeland and Yorktown education foundations.
Nicholas Speranza of Cortlandt Manor and Susan Gullotta of Yorktown Heights were the respective male and female overall winners. Fastest within an age category awards were also given. The racing results for the runners can be seen online at: http://bit.ly/iWHlEO.
The Yorktown Chamber of Commerce will award the Yorktown and Lakeland foundations checks on Monday June at 6 p.m, at the Yorktown Elks Club on Waverly Road.
