Garrison Library Hosts MLK Events

We are part of The Trust Project

The Desmond-Fish Library in Garrison will be honoring Martin Luther King Jr. Sunday evening and Monday afternoon with a potluck supper and a series of guest speakers.

On Sunday at 7 p.m. Myra Young Armstead, an author and a history professor at Bard College, will speak about James F. Brown, who escaped slavery in 1827 before coming to the Hudson Valley. On Monday at 1:30 p.m., a children’s program will be held featuring Michael Monesterial, an actor who has researched and portrayed Brown. The potluck supper will be held Sunday at 6:30 p.m.

The Desmond-Fish Library is located at 472 Route 403. For more information, visit dfl.highlands.com.
