Fifth Annual Stepinac Hardwood Club Dinner on July 19

Tony Taylor is one of this year's Stepinac Hardwood Club inductees.

On Thursday, July 19, Stepinac High School will induct their new members into the Stepinac Hardwood Club, which is the esteemed honor of being inducted into the Stepinac Basketball Hall of Fame.

Leading the Stepinac Hardwood Club Class of 2012 is Crusaders All-Time Leading Scorer Tony Taylor (pictured), who graduated in 2008, after scoring over 1200 points.

Taylor, a Sleepy Hollow native, went on to play at George Washington University of the Atlantic 10 Conference and graduated in 2012. Taylor was selected to the A-10 All Conference Second Team and named Colonials Team MVP his junior year at George Washington. In 2012, as a senior, Taylor was voted to the A-10 Preseason All-Conference First Team and scored his 1000th career- point for the Colonials on November 11, 2011.

Also being inducted into the Stepinac Hardwood Club Class of 2012 are: Tim Cohune (‘60), the Captain of Stepinac’s 1960 CHSAA Championship Team, Kevin Doherty (‘74) who went on to star at Davidson College and the 1981-’82 Stepinac Basketball Team. Bud Tolomer will receive Distinguished Service Award.
