The Yorktown Congress of Teachers, the Yorktown Food Pantry and Traditions 118 Restaurant are teaming up to combat hunger on Wednesday, October 24 from 5 to 10 p.m. during Tip A Teacher Night.

Dinner will be served by teachers in the Yorktown School District and all tips, as well as portion of the proceeds, will be donated to the Food Pantry of Yorktown Community Help.

“As a graduate of Yorktown public schools, I take pleasure in giving back to the community that has given me so much,” said Traditions co-owner Michael Lubic, who runs the restaurant with his mother Lisa.

The Yorktown Congress of Teachers has a long-standing relationship with the food pantry and co-sponsors the annual Thanksgiving Food Drive. In 2011, YCT donated over $5,000 to the Food Pantry, which provides food and other relief to about 60 Yorktown families monthly.

To make reservations for Tip A Teacher Night, call Traditions at (914) 248-7200. To make a donation to Yorktown Community Help, drop off non-perishable food items to any of Yorktown’s public schools or mail a cash donation to 1974 Commerce Street, Yorktown Heights, NY 10598.
