The Putnam County Democratic Committee appointed a new chairperson and endorsed its slate of candidates for this November’s elections Wednesday night at a meeting in Mahopac.
Cathy Croft was unanimously voted committee chair, as former chairman Victor Grossman stepped down to run for the New York State Supreme Court. The committee also unanimously nominated John McCarron and Bernard Kosberg for the Putnam County Legislature to represent districts 6 and 9, respectively.
McCarron, looking to represent parts of Southeast, is expected to face Legislator Roger Gross. Kosberg, running for a seat in Mahopac, would face the winner of a Republican primary between Legislator Anthony DiCarlo and former district attorney Kevin Wright.
The committee also nominated candidates for local office in Patterson, Philipstown and Putnam Valley and heard from candidates for the State Supreme Court.
