800px-Coyote_portraitThe Mount Kisco Police Department is reporting that three coyotes killed a dog in the southeast corner of the village on the morning of Aug. 2 and there was a coyote sighting that night.

“Later that evening a large coyote was observed on the property of a resident in the northeast section of the village,” Lt. Louis M. Terlizzi said. “Both locations border the Town of New Castle which has had several recent incidents involving coyotes.”

Terlizzi said the residents need to protect their children and pets from coyotes. “In light of these events, residents are urged not to leave small pets or children unattended outside any time of the day,” he said.
