If you need legal services, Ossining resident Mark von Glahn can provide assistance.

If you need accounting services, von Glahn can also help.

With 25 years of work in the corporate field both in America and internationally, von Glahn opened his one-man office in Ossining last spring. He said last week he provides “a one-stop shop” for legal and accounting work for individuals and businesses both large and small.

His clients have included MasterCard, McGraw-Hill, Delloitte and KPMG. He provides a variety of legal services including real estate transaction work, landlord-tenant dispute resolution, commercial law work, and individual and corporate tax law and estate planning.

But von Glahn stressed potential clients do not need to be large businesses. He also provides assistance with the purchase or sale of houses, condo and co-ops, tax returns, living wills, health care proxies, small business licensing and general business counseling. Overseas, von Glahn has worked as a senior tax director, did globally consulting for the government of Kuwait and worked to resolve tax issues for clients in France, Turkey and Saudi Arabia.

Von Glahn said his career choice came early. “I’ve always had a passion for it,” he said.

Combining legal and accounting services are especially helpful for small businesses, because they do not have the expenses related to hiring separate attorneys and accountants, von Glahn said.

“By utilizing my years of accounting experience I am better equipped to assist small businesses and start up entrepreneurs with the legal process and help them to succeed. This in turn gives back to the community by supporting the local economy and fostering business growth,” von Glahn said.

Aside from his legal and accounting work, von Glahn is active in the community. He is a member of many local organizations such as the Ossining Chamber of Commerce, Hudson Barter Exchange, the Westchester County Bar Association and the Westchester Business Council. Through the Barter Exchange his has traded his services without money being involved, he noted.

Von Glahn said one of his strengths is his ability to build strong relationships with his clients. “I firmly believe that the attorney client relationship and good communication should be the number one priority and a principal that I stand strongly behind,” he said. “By personally working one on one with each of my clients and making them comfortable with the legal process, I can address the various needs of my clients while putting them at ease.”
