A package received by Sen. Greg Ball contained a threatening letter and a stuffed animal with an anti-Semitic message.

Days after chairing a controversial Homeland Security Committee hearing, Sen. Greg Ball reported receiving a package containing a threatening letter and stuffed animal, both containing anti-Semitic messages.

The letter, addressed from Jameela Barnette from Georgia, calls Ball a “Dead Man Walking” and calls the hearing, held last Friday, a “Declaration of War against Muslims.”

Ball drew criticism for inviting Nonie Darwish and Frank Gaffney, both outspoken critics of Islam, to testify at the hearings.

Ball said in a statement, “Law enforcement is investigating this incident and I am confident this is in good hands.”

“I will continue my efforts to review both progress and failure since 9-11 and look forward to my next hearing to be held in Albany, May 17, 2011,” Ball also stated.

Along with the letter, the package contained a stuffed monkey with a Star of David on its forehead and chest and the message, “Next Stop Auschwitz” on its chest.
