Brynwood Golf & Country Club Wins Award, Names GM
After completing a major improvement project and selling out its membership in 2010, Brynwood Golf & Country Club in Armonk earned the Troon Golf “Rock Star” Award during the company’s annual leadership conference held last month in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Troon Golf’s “Rock Star” award is given annually to a select number of top-performing properties that create new standards of excellence in the industry. Brynwood Golf & Country Club was recognized for the success of its improvement project.
Troon Golf, the management company for Brynwood Golf & Country Club, also announced the appointment of Jack Hrad as general manager of the club.
Hrad, who joined Troon Golf in 2001, brings to Brynwood more than three decades of experience managing golf resort communities around the world. Most recently, he was general manager of Pearl Valley Golf Estates in Cape Winelands, South Africa, host to the South Africa Open for 2007, 2008 and 2009.
“We’re delighted to have Jack Hrad on board as our new general manager at Brynwood. With his vast experience managing world-class golf and resort properties, Jack will play a key role in Brynwood’s continued success,” said Jeffrey B. Mendell, a principal in Brynwood’s ownership.
Troon Golf manages more than 200 golf courses in 31 states and 26 countries, including 38 of the top 100 golf courses in the world.
Located minutes off I-684 on Route 22 in Armonk, Brynwood features an 18-hole, 6,350-yard championship golf course; 9 Har-Tru tennis courts; an outdoor swimming pool, and a 65,000-square-foot Clubhouse. The newly-renovated clubhouse features a new lobby and ballroom that can accommodate up to 400 guests. There is also a sports lounge, a fully equipped gym, a business center; and a children’s playroom with a movie theatre and video games.
