Holiday Basketball Tournament: The fourth annual Jack McGuire Holiday Basketball Student Tournament will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Hendrick Hudson High School Dome, 2166 Albany Post Rd., Montrose. All students in grades four through nine are invited to play either individually or in teams of four. Registration will take place at the door. A suggested donation of $10 is requested. All proceeds will go to the Jack McGuire Memorial Scholarship Fund, which awards a scholarship to a college-bound Hendrick Hudson High School senior annually. Info: JackMcGuire@yahoo.com.

Lakeland PTA Fundraiser: The Lakeland Special Education PTA will hold a holiday fundraiser on Dec. 9 and 10 from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. at the Barnes & Noble at the Cortlandt Town Center. A portion of sales will go to SEPTA. Clifford stories with the Big Red Dog will be held on Dec. 9 at 6 p.m. and on Dec. 10 at 11 a.m. Simply Steven will perform a magic show on Dec. 10 at 1 p.m. A scavenger hunt will be held on Dec. 10 at 3 p.m. There will be arts and crafts programs both days in the children’s book area. Contemporary Art Exhibit:  “Circa 1986,” is being held through July 2012 at the Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art, 1701 Main St., Peekskill. Maryknoll Christmas Concert. An evening of religious and traditional music to welcome the beginning of the Christmas season. Led by a choir composed of the Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers, Maryknoll Sisters, Maryknoll Lay Missioners, friends and neighbors, plus a separate children’s choir.
