Route 6 in Mahopac was a sea of green on Sunday, March 11 as thousands of people from throughout the Hudson Valley region came out for the 35th annual Northern Westchester & Putnam St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

The Irish-bred and those who joined the ranks for the day embraced the Gaelic culture. Russell Lavan of Carmel was this year’s grand marshal. Shenorock resident Mae Collins, who turns 107 on March 17, joined the festivities too.

There were pipe and drum bands and Irish dancers. The marching bands of Brewster and Mahopac high school were also in attendance as were local fire department, civic organizations and the hundred of scouts.
