SPARK: Robin Williams and His Battle with Lewy Body Dementia located at JCC Mid-Westchester at 7:00 PM. We invite you to join us for a special viewing of the film SPARK: Robin Williams and His Battle with Lewy Body Dementia. SPARK is a 45-minute educational adaptation of the documentary Robin’s Wish, produced by Lewy Body Disease Association, which delves into the life of Robin Williams and his courageous battle with LBD, a complex and often underdiagnosed condition that affects both cognitive and motor functions. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion and Q&A with David Zucker, Alzheimer’s Association Hudson Valley, NY Chapter, and Dr. Jason Cohen. Refreshments will be served. Evening of Remembrance located at Somers High School, 120 Primrose St., Lincolndale at 7:30 PM. This event is sponsored by Hudson Valley Human Rights & Holocaust Commission. Our keynote speaker will be Ellen Bachner Greenberg, daughter of our founder, Fred Bachner. We remain resolved to educating young people about the Holocaust and other human rights violations, hoping to inspire in them a commitment to ensure that such violations are never repeated again.

Peekskill Film Festival Fundraising Event located at Gleason’s, 23 South Division St., Peekskill at 7:00 PM. The fundraiser will feature Phineas and the Lonely Leaves and comedian Anthony Zenhauser.  Admission will be $10.00 at the door. “This year the Peekskill Film Festival committee is working with the City of Peekskill, the Peekskill Business Improvement District (BID), and The Field Library to expand the scope of the festival,” said film festival manager Chris Fox.  “We are coordinating  with them the showing of an Academy-award nominated animated film, “Nimona,”  as well as panel discussions.” The Peekskill Film Festival screens a first-rate mix of features, shorts, documentaries, and animation from throughout the globe.  It will be hosted at the historic Paramount Hudson Valley Theater on July 26 and 27. Annual Master Gardener Plant Sale located at Putnam Veterans Memorial Park, 201 Gipsy Trail Rd., Carmel from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Cornell Cooperative Extension – Putnam has announced its annual Master Gardener Plant Sale.The plant sale will feature a huge selection of heirloom and hybrid vegetable plants picked by Master Gardeners for Putnam County gardens. Thousands of carefully chosen tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, and other popular vegetable seedlings will be available singly or in multi-packs to allow gardeners to try several different varieties. The sale will also include garden favorites such as colorful annuals, perennials, native pollinator plants and herbs. Beautiful pre-planted container gardens, hanging baskets and gardening gifts will be available for that perfect Mother’s Day present. For adventurous gardeners, we will have inoculated shiitake mushroom logs for purchase. The proceeds from this charity event fund numerous CCE-Putnam programs. Cornell trained Master Gardener Volunteers will be on hand to answer questions about planting, nurturing, and harvesting to help Putnam gardeners prepare for a successful growing season. Soil testing will again be offered this year, so interested gardeners are encouraged to bring samples of their garden soil. The event will be held rain or shine in a covered pavilion.
