Ball’s Senate Career Begins
Greg Ball was sworn in Wednesday as State Senator–this time for real.
Ball was also one of nine officials who took the oath of office at the Putnam County Swearing-In Ceremony on New Year’s Day.
The more recent Wednesday swearing in took place at the Senate chamber and was officiated by Jonathan Lippman, chief judge of New York State’s Court of Appeals.
“As the next State Senator, my mission will be to begin the hard work of building the bridges necessary to cap property taxes, freeze school taxes for seniors, and eliminate unfunded mandates, and to truly change the culture of Albany,” Ball said. “As an independent voice in the New York State Senate, where we hold a slim majority, my voice will be extremely effective and extremely powerful.”
He also said he “is willing to stand up and fight for what’s right. Standing up is a very powerful thing, and I look forward to doing that.”
Ball represents the 40th Senate District which includes Putnam County, northern Westchester County and eastern Dutchess County.
