Ravallo Announces He Won’t Seek Re-Election
Carmel Councilman Bob Ravallo announced Wednesday night he would not run for re-election after 24 years on the board.
“I made a decision; I’m not going to run for re-election,” Ravallo, a Republican, said at the end of Wednesday’s town board voting meeting. “That doesn’t mean I’m not going to be concerned about what happens in the town, but some other people will have to sit up here.”
Ravallo, the board’s senior member, was elected in 1987 to the first of six terms. He has served with five different supervisors.
So far, three Republicans – John Lupinacci, Jonathan Schneider and former councilman Norman Marino, according to Carmel GOP chair Tony Scannapieco – have announced they will run for the town board, as well Democrat Pete Creegan. There are two seats up for election, one of which is currently vacant.
