Former Yorkown Attorney Charged With Grand Larceny
A former Yorktown attorney is charged with Grand Larceny after clients claim he stole $360,000.
Fred E. Rosenberg, 57, who lived at 2888 Hemlock Street in Yorktown Heights until recently moving to 25 Bank Street in White Plains, has been charged with second-degree Grand Larceny, according to Westchester District Attorney Janet DiFiore.
She said the charges stem from a 2005 real estate sale where the defendant moved proceeds from a client’s real estate transaction from an escrow account into his own personal bank account.
Officials stated in 2005 Rosenberg helped two sisters sell a condo at 414 West 51st street in Manhattan. According to authorities, Rosenberg allegedly deposited the net proceeds of the sale, $360,000, into his own account and used the funds without his client’s permission.
Rosenberg was released on $10,000 bond. He is expected back in White Plains City Court on April 22.
