We are part of The Trust Project

The White Plains Baseball Team (17-4) gained a number two-seed in the Section 1 AA Playoffs this year. The Tigers squeezed past the number 18-seeded Scarsdale High School, 5-4, in the First Round, before rain canceled the Section 1 Quarterfinals three times last week.

White Plains is scheduled to play the number seven-seed Ketchum High School (15-6), in the Quarterfinals, on Tuesday, May 28, at 4:30 p.m. at White Plains High School.

Tigers’ junior pitcher Chris Medeot pitched a complete game for the win against Scarsdale. Medeot gave up only three hits and two earned runs with three strikeouts and one walk in the game. Senior outfielder Sean Johnson broke the game open for the Tigers in the first inning with a double to score three RBI, while senior Juan Payero singled to score the go-ahead run in the bottom of the fifth inning.

The Tigers Softball Team secured a number nine-seed this year in the Section 1 AA Playoffs. On Friday, May 24, the Tigers could hardly get their game started against the number 11-seeded Lincoln High School, when the game was postponed due to rain. White Plains was leading 9-0 in the first inning when the game was postponed.

The Tigers Softball First Round game against Lincoln will resume from the point of the postponement with the Tigers leading 9-0, in the first inning. The game is scheduled to resume, on Tuesday, May 28, at 4:30 p.m. at White Plains High School.
