Special Election to Fill Abinanti’s Former Seat

The Westchester County Board of Legislators has announced that a special election to fill former lawmaker Tom Abinanti’s seat will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 15. Abinanti, 64, a Greenburgh resident, left the board of legislators after being elected to the 92nd Assembly District in November. The Assembly district includes Pleasantville and Mount Pleasant. Abinanti, a Democrat, had served the county’s 12th Legislative District for the past 20 years. He is scheduled to have a ceremonial swearing in ceremony on Sunday, Jan. 9 at Greenburgh Town Hall.
