Carmel Police Department

Mar. 4: Officers responded to a multifamily dwelling in Mahopac for a reported dispute in progress. Officers determined a male resident had physically assaulted a female neighbor. The male was taken into custody and transported to Putnam Hospital Center for a mental health evaluation. Third-degree assault charges are pending.

Mar. 6: A 43-year-old Mahopac woman was charged with petty larceny for shoplifting $370 worth of merchandise from Tops supermarket in Carmel.

Mar. 9: A Somers resident was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance after a detective observed an occupied vehicle in the back parking lot of PJ’s Restaurant. The male occupant was intranasally ingesting a white powdery substance off a large tray. A subsequent investigation determined the man was in possession of a clear plastic baggy containing cocaine.

Croton-on-Hudson Police Department

Mar. 2: Patrols conducted a traffic stop on northbound Route 9 at 10:44 a.m. Subsequent to the stop, the vehicle operator, a 61-year-old Sleepy Hollow woman, was arrested for driving with a suspended registration and other traffic-related offenses. She was released on her own recognizance and given a courtesy transport to the Croton-Harmon train station.

Mar. 3: A caller reported being involved in a two-car accident in the parking lot of a Maple Street business at 5:20 p.m. Patrols responded, and after an investigation, they arrested the driver of the second vehicle, a 72-year-old Grand Gorge, N.Y. woman, for DWI. The woman was processed and released on her own recognizance.

Mar. 4: A caller reported at 7:09 p.m. that she was cut off by an erratic driver, who then followed her into the parking lot of a South Riverside Avenue business. Patrols responded and mediated the situation.

New Castle Police Department

Mar. 1: Officers responded to Breevort Road on a report of a dispute between a male and a female. A police investigation revealed the male was wanted on multiple charges out of New Jersey. He was arrested and charged with being a fugitive from justice.

Mar. 2: An Ossining man was arrested on Somerstown Road for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and suspended registration. The vehicle was impounded and the man was released on an appearance ticket returnable to town justice court.

Mar. 7: A resident arrived at police headquarters to report a domestic dispute that occurred the night before with her husband. Subsequent to an investigation, the man was arrested and charged with third-degree criminal mischief.

Mar. 7: A Millwood resident reported he was the victim of a phone scam where he was conned out of $1.5 million by completing multiple wire transactions to an account claiming to be the Federal Reserve.

Mar. 8: A Quaker Road resident reported several items were removed from her vehicle during the overnight hours. The vehicle was parked in the driveway and unlocked at the time of the incident.

North Castle Police Department

Mar. 3: A caller, an employee of the Westchester Department of Health, reported at 11:43 a.m. that he has colleagues at Finch’s Corner Market on Bedford Banksville Road who are in a verbal dispute with the business owner regarding a violation. The responding officers requested the town’s Building Department respond to assist. The business has been temporarily closed due to county health code violations pertaining to the water system and will need approval prior to reopening.

Mar. 7: An Evergreen Row resident reported at 11:13 a.m. that trash from a construction dumpster is blowing across her front yard. The responding officer spoke with the contractors on the scene who advised they would secure the top of the dumpster to prevent any further issues.

Mar. 8: County Fire Control dispatched the Armonk Fire Department to Bedford Banksville Road at 12:56 p.m. for a leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident call with injuries. The responding officers reported that the vehicle that left the scene was described as a white truck with possible damage to its driver’s side from a sideswipe collision. The driver on the scene refused medical attention. Armonk Garage removed the remaining vehicle from the road.

Pleasantville Police Department

Mar. 5: Report of a stolen 2020 Ford Edge from the driveway of a Brookside Place residence at 2:01 a.m. A caller on Sky Top Drive reported seeing a male subject exiting a vehicle that street at 2:29 a.m., which turned out to be the same car. The key fob had been left in the vehicle by the owner and the doors were unlocked.

Mar. 5: A Brookside Place resident reported at 11:27 a.m. that their vehicle was entered and items were stolen.

Mar. 6: A Sky Top Drive resident reported at 9:03 a.m. that their car was entered and items were taken. Police are investigating the recent incidents and believe they are related.

State Police/Cortlandt

Feb. 16: Lee Anthony McLeod, 40, of Peekskill, was arrested and charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a Class C felony, and first-degree reckless endangerment, a Class D felony. Dashe Leach, 34, also of Peekskill, was arrested and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a Class A misdemeanor. At about 3:15 p.m., troopers, with assistance from the Peekskill Police Department and U.S. Department of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, executed a search warrant at a Peekskill residence, which was related to a Jan. 28 non-fatal shooting incident in Cortlandt. McLeod was arraigned and remanded to the Westchester County Jail. Leach was issued an appearance ticket returnable to the Peekskill City Court.

Yorktown Police Department

Mar. 3: Ronald Ferraro, 25, of Peekskill, was arrested at 4:29 p.m. and charged with driving while ability impaired by drugs, a Class E felony, following the report of an erratic operator on Valleyview Street.

Mar. 5: A 44-year-old Yorktown man was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, an unclassified misdemeanor, and several traffic infractions after being pulled over for making an improper U-turn on Maple Hill Street at 7:39 p.m.

Mar. 5: A 30-year-old Danbury, Conn. man was charged with DWI, an unclassified misdemeanor, after driving into a curb in the Chase Bank parking lot on Route 202 at 9:11 p.m. He was also charged with operating a vehicle without a driver’s license.
