White Plains Celebrates 100th Anniversary as Incorporated City in 2016

Gavel-Page 1 PhotoJanuary 1, 2016 will mark the 100th Anniversary of White Plains being incorporated as a City. In recognition of this important milestone, and to kick off the City’s Centennial, the White Plains Historical Society presented Mayor Tom Roach with a ceremonial gavel used by White Plains’ first Mayor, Ffarrington M. Thompson, at the first Common Council Meeting Gavel Page 1 Inset Photoon January 1, 1916.
