The Westchester Children’s (and Teens!) Book Festival

We are part of The Trust Project

Come meet over twenty five authors and illustrators at Westchester Children’s (and Teens!) Book Festival, White Plains Public LibrarySaturday, October 17 from 11 am to 4 pm. No registration is required and the event is entirely free!

Families will have a chance to attend a host of readings, purchase books (and have them autographed) through Barnes & Noble Booksellers–which will be operating a pop-up store at the Festival–and more. Everyone will receive a free book–courtesy of First Book –and light refreshments will be available for purchase. KidLit.TV , “helping parents and educators explore the world of children’s literature,” will be on hand throughout the day to interview authors and record some of the fun.The Westchester Children’s (and Teens!) Book Festival offers some of the most popular and acclaimed books and authors of this fall.

Many of the authors and illustrators are Westchester residents, and the Festival celebrates the diversity of Westchester. This is the second Westchester Children’s (and Teens!) Book Festival, which was created by Max Rodriguez, the founder and director of the Harlem Book Fair and Brian Kenney, director of the White Plains Public Library.
Participants range from innovate picture books authors and illustrators–whose works will engage children in a life-time of reading, to authors of novels for teens, many of which will appeal to adults as well.

The Festival is a partnership of the Harlem Book Fair, the White Plains Public Library, The City of White Plains, the City of White Plains Youth Bureau, and the White Plains Library Foundation. Our sponsors (thank you!) include TD Bank, New York-Presbyterian Westchester Division, MVP Health Care Hudson Health Plan, Westchester Knicks, and First Book.
Below is a link to images, participating authors and illustrators and their most recent books, although many earlier publications will also be available.
