State and county primaries were finally decided Tuesday night, with little surprise in the final results.

In the 94th assembly Republican primary, Mahopac resident Kevin Byrne topped Carmel Councilwoman and Mahopac resident Suzi McDonough. Byrne collected 55 percent of the vote in Putnam County, compared to the 44 percent McDonough picked up, and Byrne easily surpassed McDonough in the Westchester County voting districts with 70 percent of the vote, according to unofficial results. Byrne will square off again Democrat Brian Higbie from Yorktown in the general election.

In the 40th senate Democratic primary, Pound Ridge resident Alison Boak easily beat Patterson resident Andy Falk. In Putnam, Boak earned 61 percent of the vote and in Westchester, she got a whopping 82 percent of the vote. She’ll face Republican incumbent Terrence Murphy next.

In the legislative 6 Republican primary race, Brewster resident Paul Jonke easily handled Brewster resident Pat Perry with 63 percent of the vote. He also secured the Conservative and Independence lines in the race as he’ll face Democrat Jen Cassidy in November.
