We are part of The Trust Project

According to reports, recently retired White Plains Police Officer Glen Hochman, 52, a Harrison resident, killed his two youngest daughters, Alissa Hochman, 17, a senior at Harrison High School and Deanna Hochman, 13, a student of Windward School in White Plains, before killing himself Saturday afternoon.

Hochman retired from the White Plains Police Department after 22 years just two weeks ago at the end of January. He had been assigned to traffic.

White Plains Public Safety Commissioner David Chong released a statement saying the Police Department is in shock.

“The department is shocked and horrified by the news of this unfathomable tragedy,” Chong said in a statement. “We can only pray for the family. Officer Hochman served this department and the city of White Plains with honor and integrity for over 22 years.”

The Harrison Police Department is investigating the case. The home where the deaths occurred has been taped off. The Harrison Police Chief confirmed the deaths, without naming the teens. There is no further comment from Harrison at this time.

Harrison High school will be open on Sunday afternoon to offer counseling and bereavement services to members of the community.
