Putnam Sheriff’s Office Investigating Armed Robbery

putnam sheriff departmentA gas station in Southeast was reportedly robbed last week, and sheriff’s investigators are investigating the crime, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office stated in a press release.

The department, along with state troopers, responded to reports of an armed robbery at the BP on Route 22 at around 4:30 a.m. on May 21, the sheriff’s office reported. An individual in black attire entered the station armed with a handgun, pointed the gun at an attendant and demanded money, the attendant reportedly told investigators. He obtained a quantity of cash and got into an awaiting car, which was last seen heading north on Route 22, according to the sheriff’s office. The attendant was not injured.
