Pleasantville Ping Pong Party, Sponsored by Examiner Media

Examiner Media is sponsoring an all-day party at Westchester Table Tennis Center in Pleasantville on Sat., April 14, from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Attendees of the “open house” style event can play table tennis all day for free at the center, which is managed by Robert Roberts, one of the top players in the country, and owned by Will Shortz, who is also editor of The New York Times’ crossword puzzle.

At the event, the first Examiner Media Table Tennis Cup will be held. It is scheduled to start at 2 p.m. and last till about 4 p.m. Shortz said he will be donating $250 to the government body represented by the winning official, or to the winner’s favorite charity. The winner will also be awarded a trophy. To register or get more information, call 914-769-9128.

Paddles, balls and beverages will be provided. The center is located at 175 Tompkins Avenue in Pleasantville.
