Pest Control at Cinema de Lux, White Plains Underway

We are part of The Trust Project

On January 13, the Cinema de Lux movie theater in City Center White Plains was cited in violation of the NYS Property Maintenance Code by the White Plains Building Department after allegations that children had left the movie theater with tiny skin bites.

According to the White Plains mayor’s office, the Building Department has spoken with the theater operator, who has a regular pest management program in place, and has been advised that they are taking the additional, necessary measures to address the conditions for which they have been cited.

The Notice of Violation gives the operator 30 days to address the violation. If it is determined that after that time, the violation was not addressed or remedied, the City will issue a summons.

The White Plains Performing Arts Center, which is located on the same floor of the movie theater at City Center, but has a separate space from the movie theater and which has not been cited by the building department, authorized a thorough inspection of its premises by a licensed pest management company, a statement released Thursday said. “We have been assured, without a doubt, that there is absolutely no evidence of any type of pest on our premises. The WPPAC has never received a violation of any kind,” the staff and board of the WPPAC said.
